Purr-fect Love

Our Featured Topic: Soul Connection with our Pets

ShantipriyaIt’s 4:30 a.m. – and my over-energized cat wants to play! It starts with her jumping on the bed and using my body as a catapult to jump through the air. I grumble and hope she settles down, but no luck. Playing “possum” does not work, and she increases the speed and frequency of her jumps. Finally by 4:45, I determine she “wins” and I get up and find two of her balls in my walking path. She knows how to manifest what she wants!

My cat and I have a soul a connection, and she is one of my guides. Here are three of her current lesson plans:

  • Be Playful - At times with so many things to focus on, I forget to play. Peaches, as described above, powerfully reminds me. When I take time to play with her she has me be in the moment as well. A loving reminder to be in the now, as that’s all there really is.
  • Be Aware - Sometimes I forget that animals are seeing a lot more than we’re giving them credit for. I do a lot of energy work. One night I was doing what I call an “Exorcism.” It was not the “grab the cross, head-spinning spurting-pea-soup” kind. It was an intention to release negative thoughts and energies from a person’s being, home, and workplace etc. to help with a health issue. As I was doing the work, Peaches started “staring at nothing” and switched to running and jumping at what seemed to be air. When I finished, Peaches was calm and content. She reminders me to be aware and deal with things as they occur.
  • Be Love – Peaches lives each moment in love. Not the “special love”, but the unconditional, true love. She demonstrates the paradigm of Be – Do – Have. Be love, then your actions of doing are of love, then you have love. Such a great teacher!

So in appreciation, I express my thoughts…I never dreamt my rescue cat would rescue me! I always thought I would want arms to hold me – and lips to kiss my pain away – yet I find healing and peace from your sandpaper licks and the purr of your expression of love.
Yes, I admit love found me in the form of a fur ball, spirit-filled companion named Peaches Bast! I am truly blessed beyond words!
